Not the actual words, but couldn't find them within my scattered brain, but you know what I mean, I think. Here we go, ground-glass opacities and consolidation...

Incorrect there has been alot of research into Covid and vaccines for it Has been for decades but it has been difficult. Biotron were were ready to do clinical trials in Febuary, but it is just that trial and error, now some onerous regulations have been relaxed, and new techniques with DNA could speed up the previously slow process.

Some interesting information here I was not aware of. Do we know if the frosted glass look of the lungs is present in all patients who have contracted the virus?

Sorry, I've confused things by using the wrong word instead of looking it up.

The wording is "ground glass opacities and consolidation" and who knows if some Covid patients will have it forever, or if it might go? But it, plus other problems sound pretty awful.

One wonders whether COVID-19 will become the 8th virus to cause cancer?

If it does, cancer rates will soar in coming years .

We know COVID-19 can affect the lungs, the heart, the brain, the pancreas, the blood, ...

Could go on to cause cancer. We will have to wait and see.

In the meantime, I for one am not going out to catch COVID-19 if I can at all help it. Lockdowns work for me :p.

Yes - but I don't run the risk of "catching" dementia or alcohol from you ... as usual the point is missed

Here is a though to consider.
A human is a virus to their environment.

Not really. Humans can survive without covid19. Covid19 cannot survive without humans.

Just nit picking. :D Covid 19 can survive in bats and pangolins and possibly felines, it didn't evolve in humans.

Depends if you consider the human to human strain a unique strain. Can humans give covid19 back to bats?

I suspect Gen Y was quoting Mr Smith in The Matrix (and Smith has a point):

"Smith expresses a strong hatred of humans and their weakness of the flesh. He even compares humanity to a virus; a disease organism that uncontrollably replicates and inevitably destroys its environment, only to move on to another and repeat the process."

Great scene and, depressingly, hard to disagree with.
