If you are considering buying a single level house that may have potential ocean views if you build a second level how do you determine the above?

    Drone?
    Builder?
    Any other suggestions?

    Cheers,

Buy out every house between you and the ocean, then demolish them.

Years ago I've attended an inspection where the agent brought a ladder and we could climb up to the roof. I've even been to opens around here where they've had a scaffold erected to show off the potential views.

I was looking at a property recently where the neighbour had gone up so we looked via their place. Otherwise a drone would be a good option, you can control how high up it goes (2nd storey height + eye level) and get it to take a pic in the direction you want. Make sure you do it on a clear day, I did it for my property on a slightly drizzly day and it was impossible to tell what was water and what wasnt.
