Today , NSW vax rates hit 1.8 doses / 100 people / day

That's higher ( according to ABC graphic ) than any country .

Venezuela , Brunei and South Korea are at 1.6 .

Australia as a whole is 1.1

Come on the rest of Oz , get you're act together .

The rest of the country would love to, but the supply is dispraportionately going to Sydney at the moment.

Definitely a hierarchy happening at the moment:

Western Sydney > Greater Sydney > Regional NSW > other states

NSW is ahead because of the growing outbreak and people are sensing it’s urgent to get vaccinated. Plus we have had the carrot dangled in front of us with the easing of restrictions.

Have to hope someone is very good with logistics too with the requirement to cover 2nd doses of AZ on a rolling basis.

Yup I'm sure WA would have their rates up higher if they had more stock to pump in arms. At the moment the only thing stopping higher vaccination rates here is supply.

I say this kindly but that's ignorant. NSW took the whole vaccine supply for themselves, we've had to source some from Singapore just to keep up!

Instead of taking potshots and feeling great about, after all it's only people, this may be the reason why there is a focus on NSW.

If I seem cranky, I am. It's personal as one of my children is a nurse in a public hospital in Greater Sydney and is now back on anti-depressants.

Love and kisses to you all.

I'm pretty confident the virus will be widespread as soon as we open up. It's inevitable I reckon.

I feel like in Sydney that will start with kids going back to schools end of October. Once that happens it’s just a matter of time for the cases to spike.

This is why we need parents all vaccinated. This will minimise the spread and deaths, while allowing the kids some semblance of normality for the end of the school year. Note, schools in areas with moderate or high levels of circulating Covid will not be allowed to go back. It’s a kick in the guts for those kids, but what can we do….

It doesn’t look to be the case. We live in one of such areas in south west Sydney and the principal of our son’s school already confirmed that kids are supposed to be back to school at the end of October/early November as per the current plan.

Wait till all borders open :D

Vaccination is the only course of action to protect yourself as best as possible and have freedoms in life.

    It's such a no brainer.
