Two wives - the husband would be a stereo type.

(Technically, Utah has outlawed polygamy, though there are some small sects which continue to practice it. The penalty for bigamy is actually very severe. Multiple mothers-in-law).

So, who is best for the state of NSW ?
I've never been a fan of the two party prefered system....
The state isn't in debt now, so who will do the spending ?

I keep seeing adverts for PUP, registered office is Brisbane. I thought it was a NSW election.

They seem to be spending quite well ATM, with the demolition of the Allianz Stadium proceeding despite the government being in caretaker mode. New stadiums to replace Allianz and Stadium Australia are estimated to cost $2.3B, though I'm not sure who is footing the bill.

Meanwhile, hospital emergency wait times have blown out, and the government only promised funds ($1B) in the lead up to the election.

It's not just emergency. Hubby needed some test done at the clinic at Penrith Hospital. The wait time was 3 months. He called around & found somewhere in Blacktown for the the same test within the week.

I've found that, our local radiologists charge an arm and a leg (scheduled fee +++) but they're convenient. If I drive to Merrylands, I get same-day service on Medicare for free. (My time is worth more than the drive) whereas another clinic closer to town was a two week wait (on Medicare as well).

Hubby needed further tests after discovery of precancerous cells. Public wait for invasive testing was 12 months "just to get the appointment" (didn't want to ask how much longer before the actual appointment) ... fortunately we are private and got in for tests within 3 weeks

If one had to wait 12 months+ they could be damn well dead - or untreatable - by that stage. Bit more important that replacing a perfectly good stadium

Nothing perfectly good about it at all. I am yet to see the facility having been suitable for jelly wrestling, battle bots or curling let alone a few swimming trials.

Any tips on election winners this Saturday?
My only tip is - independents and minor parties controlling the senate

Has Gladys done enough to be returned?
Or has the shadow of Tony turned it?
    Has Daley proved himself?
Or is the ghost of Eddie still lurking?

Best wishes to them all - any person running for public office has my respect

Not living in New South Wales I cannot cast a vote but I am looking forward to tomorrow.

Head over to a polling booth in Queanbeyan, swat away all How to Vote cards and proclaim:

"As if I'd vote for the likes of you! Away with ye. I'm here for the sausage sandwich. Bring it to me. Onions on top if you don't mind."

May get some of those cakes which are usually around. Yum time.

So when I see this happening when I vote, I'll know who it is. At least I'll have a pseudonym ready for the police.

    Yep. @Nodrog it is.

Silliness aside, it is going to be interesting to see what happens.

I've been following Dr Kevin Bonham's blog on it.

I'm pretty unsure too. It wouldn't surprise me if plenty more independents get in to the lower house too. I suspect neither of the majors will be able to form government on their own numbers.

I think Labor is more likely Federally, which usually means the States go the other way.
A lot of voters don't understand the separate roles of Federal v State (eg transport, infrastructure hospitals, health, private health insurance, education) so that doesn't help.

I would have been inclined to think that Labor would get in this time - if I just consider roads, rail etc, they are yet to prove positive for the govt; but I'm not sure Labor has really distinguished themselves from the Libs. I think Gladys is preferable to Daley, he's had some negatives in the last few days which could cost Labor in the polls, especially in more multicultural areas.

So maybe Libs can win it? Maybe?

Mixed messages in the election advertising.

I'm guessing that the official line is to number every square, but some parties don't want there to be "dead" preferences.

I'm not sure if I was supposed to vote. Queanbeyan wasn't listed in the list of places with voting booths.
