Doesn't matter what State you live in, your either into it or not.
Personally, whilst I still watch it, I find it a little boring compared to the 80/90s.
Its odd that boxing, martial arts, even pounding someones face in cage fighting is supported, yet they stopped the Biff in the Origin.
Lets see how the Queeenslanders go without their regular stars.

    lol, was wait'n for it.
Not sure about these days but when younger living in Sydney we referred to AFL as Arial Ping-pong, pretty boys with a comb in one pocket, nail file in the other. As far as I'm aware we were referred as no neck bum sniffers.
So I guess in your case it would be option 3

Whilst I prefer AFL over NRL due to growing up with AFL, I always love State of Origin because it is so intense. There is really no AFL equivalent to it.

Of course the Blues beating the cr*p over the Maroons tonight really helps :D:D

Tedesco had a great 2nd half, Man of the Match IMO.

Whilst great defence from the Blues, I'm not sure their game play was any better than last year, I reckon if JT was out there it would have been a different game, but the same could be said if Joey was still out there for the Blues.
Unfortunately we all get old, body can't take the punishment anymore, many before the now ailing stars had their time, always younger ones coming up as the new stars, all depends what side they play for, NSW or QLD.

There should be though, each state has teams.
Don't know if I'd watch others but I would WA vs Vic.
But I prefer the rules to be relaxed, nothing wrong with a bit of rough play, it also should be played after the season ends, not during it taking main players away from club level

    Sex and aggression.
Had a beautifully phallic photo of the inflatables but who knows why it won't upload. Put it on fb and got a lot of comments about the sexuality of the imagery.
I live 250m from suncorp stadium so I thought when in Rome.... and went along.

Nice to support the winning team for a change :)

QLD didn't even play that bad - NSW were just phenomenal!

Grew up in NSW, great to see them get up.

Funny most of SA support QLD, mainly due to the fact that it's a place they have been before and well they kept winning.

Odd last night though, all my SA friend who were previously big QLD were very quiet last night...

I don't watch much NRL now that I live in WA. I've caught a few of the last SoO matches though and would rather watch Super Rugby (different code, different game to those who don't follow) any day. The passion and aggression and all the things that used to make SoO awesome just don't seem to be there anymore.

The rivalry in the forward packs was what I loved.. kick-off followed by a series of bone-jarring tackles and hit-ups. That and the never-quit attitude of the teams until after the refs whistle blew on the final siren.

Pleasantly suprised was my reaction watching the game. Player for player before kick off I thought NSW looked better but they seem to lack believe and total commitment.
It just matters more to Qld.

I was surprised what an attacking game QLD played without JT on board, seemed they had NSW on defence 95% of the game.

Highlight for me was the emotional send off for JT, who got his start with the doggies & gave up his 2004 Grand Final ring to injured Steve Price. Unlike others JT always picked up the T and handed it to the ball boys, gave T's and head guards to kids in the crowd, does a lot for charity etc.

    For those that missed it;
