    Just tragic.

Got out the photo album of our visit there in 2016, thankful I took so many interior photos of the amazing stained glass windows and sculptures. Hopefully some survive.

No need to paste, it's in every major newspaper.

They don't know who did it, but they have a hunch.

He's means "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" ... at the end of the ole black and white movie (a very moving movie) the place goes up in flames

Quasimodo was warned of the fire, but the warnings fell on deaf ears.

Now they want us to chip in to help restore it lol. Like the church is down on the bone of it's bum and can't afford to. Chip in an help the farmers in our own backyard first.

The worlds wealthy are already pledging money to rebuild. Obviously this is an important building and a lot of people want it to be rebuilt, but I don't think it's the role of international governments to intervene here.

I think you miss the point - Notre Dame is not simply some "church" in the back blocks of nowhere. It is a building of historical significance to the civilised world - regardless of your religion, or lack therefore (I personally have no religion).

I think you'll also find that the French government isn't "demanding" any payment - they have simply vowed to rebuild and asked for help if anyone wants to give - whether that be financially or through skills and experience

'We will rebuild Notre-Dame together', vows France's President Macron

But so much of their money is going to victims of predator priests.

    Perhaps they need an Angel?
