I moved to a lovely property across from a beautiful parkland nature reserve with also a lovely children’s play area which obviously now is closed
I now discovered that that nature reserve/ park is war marked to get a sports club aNd club house and playing field which I really don’t want . Should I try to oppose it ?
But I also don’t want to make enemies in a small town that I just moved to .
Should I ask neighbours their thoughts aBd the community sentiment and do nothing if I fear I could make enemies in a close knit country town
    Advice please
    Thank you .

Start with Contacting council and find out what is exactly proposed? Has it already been approved, maybe too late regardless?

Is this in keeping with the plan of management for the park?

If you discovered after you moved in, that plans existed before you purchased - then you ought to suck it up.

Bit like moving next to the airport and complaining about the aero plane noise.

Your lack of dd is no one else’s problem

On the flip side, if the plans were created post purchase, u have the right to object like anyone else

Having lived in small country towns most of my life i wouldn't go out by yourself and oppose these plans. The community might have fought for it!. Just have talks with the neighbours and get their feelings and see if a group opposing this is formed. Country people don't like to be railroaded by people just lobbing into their area - tread carefully on this one.

I would not say anything as you have just moved into the area..Knowing how some small country towns work everybody knows each others business in one way or another and something like this will go ahead no matter what you do and if you intend to live long-term just blend in and enjoy your new found freedom ..imho..

if you opposed and registered interest, will other people be able to see your objection anyway?
thought objections were anonymous to the general public, unless things have changed

For our DA, the details of complaints were redacted (badly). We could still see who made the complaint. Things were blacked out but bits were missed, and some we could work out just by the wording.

Just do nothing and let that anger build up to a boiling point. You will then know what to do.

In this case it would probably be advisable to stay away from Ammonium Nitrate.

    And search engines.
