    Hi all,

highly appreciate your advise here. we are looking to build a home in northwest. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids under 6. My in-laws come and stay for few months like every 18 months.

have given deposit for 325sqm land in Colebee.. this is closer to the school that kids currently attend. Like 10 mins drive. However, we are not happy with the builder’s finishes and concerned that the house might be too small.

looking at Clydesdale estate in Marsden park which is atleast 600sqm buy school is 20 mins away.

torn between these two choices whether to choose convenience or build a dream home quite far away. Confused about Clydesdale’s future prospect also as we will be spending over 1.1m

    Thank you

Why just Colebee and Marsden Park? If you are open to send kids to another school, 1.1 may buy you a near new house in Schofields or a well maintained older house in Quakers Hill. Schools are also improving in these suburbs.

Thanks @mpty . We are planning to buy land only first and start construction by next year only. am afraid if we wait until next year to buy a built house, we might end up buying a smaller house for the same cost..

The biggest complaints about Marsden Park is the traffic, morning and afternoon rush.
It was terrible before the development.

meeting with the builder today to discuss requirments. If it’s 325sqm (12.5 x 26 ) block in Colebee, am planning to build 30sq double storey with 5x12m backyard.. not sure if this is possible. Husband thinks it will still be lot smaller compared to single storey 32 sqs house ( not considering the backyard space ) ..

Wow. Sounds big enough to me. Our house is 18sq and we have two kids. No dramas with it at all.
