Would dearly love to see this link implemented:

NEARLY 120,000 new jobs would be created and 104,000 new residents would move in to Western Sydney if the state and federal government committed to a rail link from Campbelltown to Rouse Hill via the Badgerys Creek airport.

That’s the findings of a report commissioned by property giant Lend Lease, the rich-list Baiada and Ingham families and the University of Sydney, who have joined with other firms and local councils to push a rail option along a north-south corridor.

The Turnbull and Berejiklian governments are currently conducting scoping studies to determine when, and along what route, a rail line to the Western Sydney airport should be built.

There will be plannng money for the M9 outer orbital in the NSW budget.

Hospital and new motorway plans revealed in NSW budget countdown

Planning for three new Sydney motorways
Next week's state budget will contain planning money for three new Sydney motorways, but the Government concedes it will be years before shovels are in the ground.

A billion-dollar package for western Sydney roads will include tens of millions of dollars of planning money for the M12, which will eventually link the M7 to the future Badgerys Creek Airport.

There will also be planning money for the F6 Motorway in southern Sydney and the M9 outer orbital from Box Hill in the city's north to the Macarthur region in the south-west

The Roads Minister Melinda Pavey said construction would not start for a number of years, but the motorways were complex projects that were vital for growing areas of Sydney.

"Now we've got some planning money it will give some certainty to those communities out there about how the roads are going to look into the future to deal with the rapid growth that is going on into the future," Ms Pavey said.

The Acting Opposition Leader Michael Daley said the planning money was a token gesture to try to keep western Sydney voters on board before the 2019 election.

"[Premier] Gladys Berejiklian uses the term planning money to just keep talking about this — she'll use it to get her through the next election but there'll be no money for construction on these projects for at least another four years," Mr Daley said.
