    Yep. We were the only group there in the bistro after about 10pm, we had the whole bistro area to ourselves. Staff were patiently waiting for us. :)

    Yes, need to lock in a date for Mid August.

    We can get a function room for a weeknight at no cost, and we are looking at having special speakers.
    So we have to find out what topics will be of interest.
    Will start a thread. :)

    And to everybody: you guys make me feel young again! Wish i had your fervour at your age (sigh! too much travelling the world!)

    Reminder to everybody: our investing horizon is up to our 70s /80s ...so everything that seems expensive now would be but a blip in the long term!

    I had a great time - very good company.

    It's just a pity that the food is so bad. Sorry Gockie - I know you love the place - and it really is quite convenient location-wise, but I've never had good food there :(

    You can tell by just looking at the body language of the kitchen staff - they simply don't care.

    I'm no foodie - but with two young kids I don't get out much, so when I do - I want to make the most of it and enjoy my food.

    From what I heard from other people there on the night - nobody else was terribly impressed either.

    Fair enough Simon! Honest feedback welcome. I dont go there for the food, but its near home and has reasonable parking and transport. I can happily do a restaurant somewhere else nearby.

    Would like to do a meetup where we have people presenting though so we need a room for that, if there's enough interest the Ranch will give us a function room for free due to my SNV club membership.

    Anybody have any suggestions of any other place where we can get a free/low cost function room?
