@Westminster @Aaron Sice Do you know which councils don't mind this and the ones that will fight tooth and nail against it?

 

From personal experience Cambridge (well, one Councillor who the rest follow her lead) fight it tooth n nail. Not end of the world though, there's always SAT as an option, just more time = more cost

 

From recollection Stirling don't like them. I recall a big SAT case about it.

 

Oh and how could I forget yours in Cambridge!

 

Too bad for council. Definition as of October states 'any part'.

 

Sorry for my naivety and inexperience but what is this SAT you speak of?

Wow, didn't realise their amendment actually further strengthens the loophole they intended to close.
Unlucky timing on my part as I caved in August (didn't want to risk the time needed going to SAT) and am now doing a more traditional set of 3 single level at apartments.
Not unhappy with the outcome but if I had the time again I would have fought it further, usual story of making the best decision with the facts available at the time.

Waiting for TPS2 for this when it goes pure R40

 

Spoke to CoV yesterday and they think sometime between 1 and 3 months away as the need to brief the new minister but they believe the new minister wants to push this through as its been going for a while

 

Going for awhile is an understatement but that is better than the 3-6mths that we last heard.

Well after finally waiting and waiting for the rezoning to happen it finally did about 11mths ago.
The old plans had been done by a builder I no longer use so it was back to the drawing board and that wasn't a terrible thing as the market had changed and there had been a lot more 2 bedroom apartments built in the meantime so I wanted to explore all the avenue.
We ended up going with only 4 dwellings but keeping the two storey apartment theme. These are all 3 x 2s though to give some diversity against the other 2 bedrooms in the area.

A mechanical turntable that has won me over..... something cool and different. Have you implemented one of these in your designs before?

How much do they cost generally? to purchase and be installed

 

Unfortunate it was the only option to get the number of bays needed in a smaller space once we moved everything backwards to comply with a 7m front setback.
I’ve not implemented one before. Costing of $20-25k installed.

 

Can anyone else chime in if they have one? I would be interested in knowing the yearly maintenance costs. I guess running costs for electricity should be low.

It's actually under construction at the moment and roaring along! Will be finished in December.
