Mitchelton has a great feel as a proper village.

Heard from local experts, Mitchelton has started moving nicely. I'm doing a renovation for my IP from 3/1.5/1 to 5/2/3 in Mitchelton. Once completed, hope the valuation increases nicely as well.

Not so many queenslanders in mitchy but it's a solid suburb. A confident investment.

A lot of vendors in denial in the inner N, but they dont seam to be forced to sell so they just sit and wait. You still have to pay a premium to get on the brooke

It's the same whichever direction from the cbd. You will find similar numbers for most middle rings.
Brisbane is all about distance from cbd ex oversupplied. Irrespective of direction.
Can't see this changing in the next few years either.
Essentially, local people are a bit more laid back than southern counterparts and willing to buy whichever direction from the cbd as long as it's convenient, close and offers good prospects for growth.

... and there's this big thing called a river south of the city. But lets be honest, everyone's trying to live close to something they never visit!

Yep..sure it may not be a holiday destination.. But I guarantee office workers are grateful to be close to the river and indeed they do visit it 5x a week.

Does anyone on PC use the ferries/Citycats to get to work, or ride a bicycle?

Which schools? Why do you think you are a school expert?

I don't and didn't say I was but thanks for your unqualified endorsement unless you were being deliberately abrasive and rude. However, of course it depends on your expectations but my wife runs a dept at a secondary and we know many teachers in that area if that satifies you. Also our friends recently moved out of Mitchelton for this very reason and their research was extensive. They moved to Ashgrove BTW. Naplan results are publicly available so obviously do your own research.

On another thread you praised Bracken Ridge schools which seems odd after making a blanket statement about schools. There are plenty of great schools in Brisbane. Your post can be interpreted to be critical of any or all schools. Maybe do better than broad negative statements next time.

Another great thing about Mitchelton - all of this in the immediate local area:
    • 4x Woolworths
    • 2x Coles
    • 2x Aldi
    • 2x Bunnings
    • 2x Fruit Markets
    • Lots of close walkable train stations
