Watching the sports highlights on the teev tonight - Wimbledon specifically.

Round one of THE biggest tennis event in the world, and "our boy Nic" decides to refuse to play!!.... over a bad call.

And then later on at the Press conference when asked how he felt about a possible fine for his behavior he said he couldn't care less.

Pleeeese, please, please bring back John Newcombe, Rod Laver, Margaret Court and Evonne Goolagong/Cawley, Pat Rafter, The Woodies, Ken Rosewall, The two Macs and all those other terrific great sports people who did us proud and had heaps of dignity, maturity and class, and get rid of these spoiled brats.

I hope he makes a very hasty 3 set exit tomorrow....three donuts would be nice.

Agreed - immature. Can't say it's surprising unfortunately.

Not bad; followed it up with another gem in round 2.

    Go, Nic!!

At least his brother thinks he did nothing wrong.

Sport is a job these days. Not just a sport anymore. Hence the lack of "sportsmanlike" behaviour? And besides he probably can't get paid Stress Leave.;)

No, I think most folks think the same - otherwise they wouldn't even report on the behaviour.

LOL! He was using heat, and stress, and a bit of a cold? as his excuse for acting like a 3 year old.

Gee, must be too hard; playing tennis, earning a squillion, and it's all too stressful - so have to give officials a mouthful.

I'd like to see a linesman walk up to him after an outburst, grab his racket off him, and smack him on the arse a few times with it.

If I was a sponsor of his I would pull out right away! That would make him pull his head in.

    See ya's.

I knew Nick when he was younger. I have a son the same age and they played on the same basketball team for a few seasons. He's a nice kid...and he is just that, a kid... lets give him a go and see how he grows as he matures.

His parents are lovely people - they put so much effort into his sporting career, driving him all over the country to compete. I was disgusted at what Dawn Fraser had to say today.

    I was, too.

But that doesn't change the fact that both Nick and Bernie are appallingly behaved and need some serious training in sportsmanship and how to behave in public.

And it's not a "these days" thing, @geoffw - I felt the same way about McEnroe. I was just a kid during his heyday and remember being appalled at his behaviour.

Agree with your sentiment regarding Dawn Fraser. She needs to open her mouth and change feet!
However, if Nic were my son I would be appalled at his behaviour and tell him to pull his head in quick smart.
As for Mac the Brat (McEnroe) at least he had the runs on the board so to speak.

This is my opinion too. Dawn Fraser has been rightly criticized and was pretty vile but there is is no excusing the behaviour of these 2 idiots. Let's hope they grow up sooner rather than later.

There's ultimately no point overly dissecting her comments, she's come out with pro one nation/pauline Hanson stuff in the past and is just a bit feral

Nice to see the crowd booing him this morning in Canada. What an A grade piece of scum this bloke has turned into! As I've said before, if I was the CEO of a company sponsoring him, that sponsorship would be money going bad, so I'd pull out now. That's Nike, Yonex, Bonds underwear, Malaysia airlines. This is no longer just the case of a silly immature young bloke, he is just nasty.

    See ya's.
