    Squatters - I'm actually not against someone occupying an abandoned property - its a more efficient use of property.

    But this claiming adverse possession is dodgy. Its 12 years in NSW, and that is actually not a long time in real estate.

    That said if you've essentially abandoned your property for such an extended period perhaps it should be forced to be moved on. But as a sale not just taken??

    This story the owner had a close call and retained ownership, mostly got lucky. Next time put up a big fence and a few no trespassing signs.
