It's better than no funding at all. Newy has moved a lot...little room to grow I reckon?

I was looking at Newcastle last year... Made many offers but too overpriced.. Luckily on the way back to Sydney I stopped at a place called Lake Haven where my Ip of 10 months has grown in value about 40k

There are still some for value add. Look for period features. Close to city. Gentrification. And CG will follow.

Hi Guys.... been stalking for a while and this is my first post.

Hubby and I are looking at buying a IP in Warilla - it has zoning R3 for future development. We are at an advantage as we run our own building company.

Anyone have any thoughts on Warilla? is the market still moving up?? very nervous as its our first property as we currently only have our PPOR

    thanks guys :)

I bought in Mount Warrigal over a year ago and the market has moved a fair bit. I'm not local though @BuyersAgent should be able to give you the latest.

Hi @Mumma_K welcome to the forum! Hang around there are loads of goodies in here...

Warilla is highly deal dependent at the moment. Some stock is still good, other stuff is overpriced. It depends. Sorry can't be more helpful. Stock is still low as are vacancies but prices are up off the bottom too. If you want to PM me the address I might be able to comment further.

hi, I have one in wollongong and it has gone up quite abit since I bought it. Rents quite well. Some people say near universities are better. But you have to know that university tenants can be an issue, some don't maintain them well. Due to the age group and maintenance. But the price point is lower to enter in this type of market compared to sydney and costs to clean is not huge. plus tax deductible. Newcastle isn't too bad and you find you have more corporates renting and uni students.

Check out Austinmer, relaxed beachy suburb which will be good for the kids, and not far from train station should a trip to Sydney be required, which is approx 1.5hrs to Central station
