Hey just thought I'd introduce myself..

Been a lurker here for a little while as I've just been reading up on stuff and saving money.
I've recently moved to Townsville for my job, quite the drive from Albury (originally from Adelaide however) and thinking about buying something cheap here to renovate and rent out.

I'd like to get to know anyone else who is from here and on the forum.

Has anyone used the Queensland Gov housing loan before? I've been told it's sketchy but sounds good to me

Sounds like a great plan! Just pick your spots....some of.the cheaper parts of town have social issues or storm surge issues.

All places have rates and insurance issues...you'll need to be across these costs.

I'd wait a few.months before buying anything so you have time to learn the lie of the land and the flood maps!

Welcome to "up north"! You've just arrived in a lovely part of the world! :)
