I have to put new smoke alarm systems in my IPs (before 2021?). I'm just wondering if I can claim the full amount of the cost and installation as a deduction or is it something I'll have to claim over a certain amount of years?

    Thanks.

Smoke alarms will usually cost under $300 each and therefore can be written off immediately.
