Spent a few hours today plastering the walls and fixing some holes.

I think I'm going to remove the asbestos from the bathroom myself and install the appropriate paneling. This will save me time and will be under $500 all up for the new material and things i need to dispose of the asbestos and tip fees.

The door I found covered up I dont know if i should leave it covered or not. What do people think?

What does the door go through to, and what room is it in?

The door looks like it's been blocked off by the room on the other side.
    Get rid of it.
You might get some responces regarding the "a" word. I assume your confident doing so. Check out all the codes of practise before you start and heaps of plastic wrap and duct tape, plus mask etc. I'm not familiar with WA legislation but you just need to put some thought into it.

Im in the loungeroom and it goes right to the hallway which will make it have two. The other door is in the dining

I'm not sure if it will be good as it will increase the noise from the loungeroomto the bedrooms.

The linen closet is what separates the doors.
You can just see the entry on the left of the photo.

Do you need the extra wall space in the lounge? You might find the door's been blocked off to create a decent spot for the TV or something.

I will leave it blocked off, thinking about how much the door will open it will take up to much room.

All the large holes in the bedrooms have been patched up. I will do some more sanding tomorrow then clean the walls and ceiling then they will be ready to paint.

I've just about completed sanding the three rooms, just some final patching of the large holes.

The ceilings have been washed (their was so much dirt on them) and I've started painting the cornices with some left over ceiling paint from my last renovation a year ago. It's looking good.

I've got some left over wall paint which should do 1 room. I will use it and see how it turns out.

I need to buy some roach bombs as this place is crawling with them.

It makes so much difference already. I'm excited to see what the room will look like once the walls are painted.

1 room is ready to paint, just need to wash the two other rooms which will take a few hours.
I will probably do it Monday,

Hope you are managing your stress levels well.

Still feel scarred from my last reno job which involved roofing, cladding, painting, kitchen, windows, bathroom, flooring, tiling, electrical and abit of plumbing.

Stress is non existent, I'm very good with it.

Im just doing small parts at a time to stop me getting bored with the renovations. Instead of painting the whole house at once I'm doing three bedrooms. It takes a little longer but helps motivation seeing things being completed.

First coat in two rooms are done. I should complete all three rooms with two coats by the end of the day.

Some electrical work has been done. It was not pretty or safe. live wires were hanging from a ceiling fan where the light should be been.
