Hi PC Members, I am planning to rent my current ppor and move to the hills region for good primary/secondary schools. I am currently looking for a townhouse/duplex in the cherrybrook area. These are around $1 million mark. Do you think it's worth purchasing it for a longer run? It means we are downsizing ourselves from a house to a duplex/ townhouse. The other option is around Baulkham hills area but house prices over there are over my budget of upto $1.1 mil Will really appreciate your suggestions. Ta.
My 2 cents worth - we did that because we didn't have enough money to buy in a good area. But if I had my time again I would move heaven and earth to move house. The cost of the private school was dead money whereas a house with good CG would not have been.
Wish I had the money Exactly my thought. Not sure about CG in Cherrybrook area for Duplex/town houses though
Keep your home and rent in Cherrybrook. Great schools. They beat many private schools. Use the 6yr rule to avoid CGT. Look at buying later. People wanting to get into the schools will keep the demand.
Have a look at North Rocks or Carlingford, its got equally good schools if not better than Cherrybrook. Might just be able to squeeze in a old house with 1-1.2 mil budget. Good luck
