Hi all, my name is John. This seems an interesting forum. So I'm 68, self funded retiree and looking at making the most of my savings as interest rates are ridiculously low. We have an adviser but at times it's good to get other opinions.
Welcome John. This forum, despite its name, has a lot of discussions on shares as well. I've done well with property in the past, but as I'm at a stage in life not too far behind you, I'm using shares a lot more - including property related ones. So you have a wide range of opinions and options. While some of us are very strongly opinionated on one side of the fence or the other, the forum as a whole has great views of both sides.

Thanks for the welcome. We have had a small IP on the Gold Coast for many years (see my other thread QLD or regional NSW IPs?), some funds in super and some in the bank. I haven't been too worried as I have been working but that's something I can't continue doing for a lot longer as it interferes with my holiday plans.
