I resigned from a volunteer position. I gave a family reason, to support my wife while she underwent her breast cancer treatment. That was reality.

So I am truthful and genuine :D.

I'd hope Jim Chalmers nominates. Bowen is awful , and I think Albo is past his prime and a bit out of date.

Yes of course she's not deputy PM. After being told all year Labor was going to win, I keep forgetting that they lost seats. Who would have thought telling Australia they would slug them if they got voted in would have been so unpopular.

I'll just be happy if none of them spout the line "top end of town" again.

I wasn't especially impressed with Chalmers on Q&A last night. He was competent in churning out the party line but, like all the Labor rhetoric, no acknowledgement whatsoever that they'd made even a slight miscalculation.

Well, it was the bottom end of town which impacted them to some extent. Low income retirees losing substantial income - and nothing said about that. Only that it was a gift that the country could not afford.

Same here but it is pretty hard to defend the indefensible :D.

I assume Jim drew the short straw. Surely, no-one from the ALP would have volunteered to be on the panel last night, not after the disaster on Saturday ;).

Imagine if they won. A panel full of ALP heavyweights ?

    Now not so fast!

As a “top end of town” princess, I was starting to ask friends to curtsy to me!

I would hope that they do change.

    1. I generally much prefer Labor. But I don't swallow the party pill.
    2. Every government needs to be kept on their toes. A government which stays in power easily will not work hard for the constituents. A strong opposition, and a strong press, can also help keep the so and sos honest.

I hope Chris Bowen gets the leadership. He is arrogant, condescending and highly gaffe prone.

    Really ?

I understand him many times, he just gets carried away at times and will double down on things journos do not like.

He also says a lot of things, that if broken down, are pretty true, he is not overly restrained by political correctness.

He does go off sometimes though, not a dill like many I can think of though......

When I said “funny”, I did NOT mean silly.

I meant he brought a smile to my face/made me laugh, especially some of his mannerisms and phases.

Comical may have been a better word.

I would've thought it was the wrath of Tony but she gives sad good sad she gets.

Even if it is just to tick the box that he wasn't elected unopposed?

@kierank for leader of the opposition? :)
