Looking good. Will that microwave be too high for safety? Hard to tell. I meant the bar fridge but Its just a personal preference .

Also, Personally I prefer you left the fridge and not swap it with ovens from a visual standpoint.

I think your inspo picture confused some as it also had a wine fridge in it? Not sure

I do like the curved edges. As long as you have enough drawers elsewhere it's personal taste as it's your PPOR

As to bathroom question, I absolutely would put in a wall, as it will stop the entry door handle smashing into the glass. There is only so much stoppers can do to protect. It also allows you to put the mixer on that wall so you can turn the shower on without getting soaked.

Ahh yes I see bit of confusion... the kitchen with the gold tapware is just an inspo photo.

My kitchen is the 3D drawings.

Wine fridge is on the left closest to dining.
Bar fridge at the end of the 'pantry' next to the door to deck.

@Sackie that bar fridge will service drinks on the deck.
At this stage deck doesn't have easy access to the pool.
So there will be another bar fridge in the bar downstairs :)
Microwave ~1200 to bottom and 1600 to the top.
Believe same in current house and it's a nice level.

    Settled on the 16/6 @ 4PM
    Started demo 9:30AM Friday 17/6
Couple of hard days at it and taken out
    - Kitchen
    - Slate
    - Carpet/lining
    - Laundry cupboard
    - WIP
    - Wall from kitchen > dining

Prep for structural beam happening this week, beam in next week.
Then gyprock guys will be in to line the ceiling, keeping the largest of the beams exposed.
Should sneak in the flooring guy to get some prep done in next couple weeks.
Ideally bathroom demo starting in next couple weeks.
Painting to start in a few weeks once the ceiling is completed
    Kitchen has already been ordered

Ideal timeline 12 weeks to complete inside, realistic 21 weeks.
Reckon bathrooms will be the hold up as original contractor for bathrooms wasted 5 weeks :(

There was floorboards under the slate!!

Any plans to replace the internal balustrading? The current ones gives me the heebie jeebies with young kids.

@Westminster yes there was floorboards under which made removal extremely easy compared with directly on concrete like my last renovation.
So was able to do this myself along with the carpet/lining instead of the flooring guy, so saved me ~$2k. So small win there!

Yes will be replaced with Glass balustrade, won't be able to be climbed, much stronger than the timber that's been there for year.
And will open up that space even more visually.
Already have this quotes and locked in!

That is very nice. I've never bought a premade vanity before as everyone in Perth just gets their cabinetmaker who does the kitchen to make their vanities. What are they like?

I haven't either, previously done the same as you. Will probably run it past the cabinetmakers also.
But from all accounts looks like a solid product.
It's an Australian company, warranties look to be decent.

EDIT: confirmed it also comes with the 12mm benchtop.
Most premade vanities need to buy as extra.

Changes to floor plan. Wall between ensuite > WIR is brick.
Would have to cut through, keeping an arch. Which would result in 1700 x 1500 shower and smaller area for rest of bathroom.
Meaning vanity would be around 1200 max.
Instead we will look to have Study where current Ensuite is
And whole new bathroom where WIR and the new study was going to be.
So we have same bathroom size as planned, study now straight off bedroom instead of hallway.
Later in life if study no longer used would be another WIR

Obviously not in Sydney at the moment. It would be a water feature.

Adds a lot of light. Shame you dont have a full width window. Depends on the view too.

definitely not in Sydney, was a little nervous taking the roof off watching the new but all good in SA.
It’s three windows in this side, used to be a door but that was changed to window - as front door is right next door.
Will have Venetian shutters across the three windows. The outlook the other way is Large good to downstairs with Big windows overlooking the tennis court and pool out the back with the windows above.

Think we have brought in a huge amount of natural light, looking back at the original photos of the kitchen

Structural beam in for main (kids) bathroom.
Walls down. Nice open area ~3300 x 2900
Will get a nice free standing 1500 bath, 1400 shower, 1500 vanity, keep the wall there for bit of privacy for the toilet.
Double isn't ideal for a bathroom, but likely going to have venetians on them anyway like the kitchen area, so should look nice.
