    Hi there,

My partner and I have just recently purchased a house in Brisbane QLD(flood zone) and looking to raise our house and do some renovations to add value to the property. We are in our early 20's and have just been learning as we go since buying the property.

I've just stumbled across this Property Chat page while trying to find out some information on raising and building underneath our house, as there seems to be a few more restrictions in doing this since the 2011 floods. And just looking to see if anyone has had any experience with raising and building underneath in a flood zone or if anyone has any suggestions as to what adds the most value to a property.

    Any help/suggestions is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks :)

    Welcome :)

Great that you're starting so young!

Plenty here have bought in in and around the flood areas of Brisbane so hopefully someone can offer advice.

Are you looking to add a bedroom underneath?

The first step i would suggest is to get a meeting with the BCC planning section to see exactly what conditions you have to comply with when renovating in a flood area.
