OMG, that is some serious damage. I'd be contacting all the media outlets.

I think so. Contact news.com.au/ realestate.com.au, all the different TV channels, current affairs show, etc. There's a good story here, and it's ridiculous. Once media gets involved, you can be sure big companies will show an interest in action.

Sounds like a waste of time and may be counterproductive to the legal remedies if you create reputational harm.

I could be lodging a review of the claim with Westpac asap - find it usually helps to go through the banks complaints process rather than via the insurance arm.

Probably also an email to your local councillor. Amazing that Bayside council hasn't taken any stronger corrective actions here.

@origin insurance setup through Westpac is that right?
Do you also hold a mortgage for this property with Westpac?
Assuming would have been setup same sort of time.

I would be pushing on the bank for support here, security property is at risk also!

the immediate action may be to commence court proceedings. This may motivate the builder to speak to his/her insurer about the claim. You should also find out whether the builder has any assets. Your lawyer will be able to trace. It's negligence. Start recording the losses you incurred, including wages etc. If the builder doesn't want to board it up, get your own ASAP. This could be a long battle. All the best with it.

seems like you're not the only one
    this one is in Maroubra
I've seen more of this happening recently.
no one checks these dodgy excavation crews.
private certifiers don't seem to give a ****

I did contact my local MP. they just ask council to call me the next day but no further help. i asked if council can hold the builder to do more work . council told me no if builder has private certifier company approve. Council will let them continue building. Randwick council is not very strong.
