Negotiating rent reduction

    I would suggest to the OP that as you are not seeking a reduction on hardship grounds that you make it clear your reduction request is to meet market rents.

    There seems to be some confusion here with posters to the thread thinking you are claiming hardship, which is probably due to the back story you give. It may be relevant to your sentiment, but not to the reason you should get a reduction (market rents).

    I dont know your area, but even in central Sydney PMs/Landlords are in denial about how bad the situation is so good luck, and be prepared to walk if you want a result.
