If these are relatively disposable for you then don't worry too much. But if you could see yourself building up a nice little tool set over time, then don't cheap out from the get go, it'll be annoying to switch later on.

Oi! All my kit is Ozito (ok except some oddball stuff like the pruning shear and pole saw - I think I couldn't find any cheap ozito stuff at the time :D)

Mind you, no battery - all plug in stuff.

I started with Ozito too! It's just a question of the long term. If you see yourself really getting into this then might as well start out right. If they're only for odd jobs here and there then no point going for top tier.

Ha! They most certainly can :) Google power tool / circular saw kickback...has killed many people. If it kicks into your jugular or leg or something, you can bleed out very quickly.

Yeah I discovered using my Ozito angle grinder
    • wearing a faceplate does not protect your neck
    • you should not angle the grinder in such a way that hot metal goes onto said exposed neck

I think ryobi should suffice. I'm not the 'man and his tool toys' type. Maybe 1 here and 1 there 5 years later will meet my needs.

Ok then yes Ryobi is a solid choice. As I said they used to be real garbage, but they've made a nice turn around in recent years. They do good stuff.

Ozito is OK for incidental use about the house. The red stuff. Not the grey.
The exception is lawn mowers. Battery mowers cant cope with buffalo. No brand will. I heard that the day I asked and the mower guy said "forget it"...Buy a petrol mower. 18V, 24V, 36V wont matter.

Get a cheapy electric ozito mower.
They weigh 8kg. Lift it up on the garden bed and mow away.
Ozito 1200W 305mm Lawn Mower - Bunnings Australia

That said, I would buy secondhand off facebook marketplace. Probably be like $10 (free if you drive around find it on council pickup lol)

or go borrow a whipper snipper (though the ozito would do a better job and be less messy - provided it has a catcher)

Ok so after talking to the guy in the store, he convinced me that this would likely be a better one for the grass and cut it a bit easier and quicker than the shears one. So I ended up buying this one.

Fyi the thing died after 10 mins.....fully charged. ..I think. Gonna go back charge it again. Then try again. If it dies after 10 mins must be faulty?

Guy at shop said at least 30 mins when fully charged.
