Wow - well now I know! Is it the same if it's a double drive? I always park in the drive at my friends houses too - never realised it's a faux pas! I blame my parents ;)

If it was a private viewing I might accept it. Parking on drive way at an open = auto decline application. Same as if you bring little kids and let them run riot.

Omg wayward children yes instant decline. If they are feral at the open imagine what they are going to be like when there is no one watching them.

One of my old principals also taught me if they have dirty finger nails then instant decline as well haha. If they dont know basic hygiene how will they keep a house. (Obviously consideration for people in jobs that are messy and oily and yuck haha - mechanics etc )

I had one where the kids were swinging off the cupboard doors and when the mother made them go outside, they started throwing rocks at houses! Little 4yr old boys! The parents were lovely and couldn't understand why they kept getting declined....

I don't agree with the advice to offer to pay more. I personally think it creates suspicion and makes you look desperate.

I have found including a cover letter helps a lot - we used this when we moved from Canberra to Sydney and got a few offers even though we were looking in popular areas

    Hi George,
    Timing is your friend.
Not many people are looking in Sydney now, the busier times you will find a cue out the front! `all the best

Like trying to stop in to my local take away....
Getting a park is impossible because the staff park out the front
(so they can see their cars )
    What the

Shoes off, polite and respectfull, dont offer more rent (unless you really want the place), but a larger bond or more rent in advance could swing things in your favour :)
