Prospects from growth in regional areas may be assisted when the drought breaks, mining and resource activity improves etc ?

But typically regional areas underperform major capitals in terms of price growth and have moderate / slow growth with a high emphasis on external conditions that can hamper value eg tourism closure or slowdown, cyclones and other climate impacts, mining project suspensions due to commodity price falls etc. Given the expected low wages growth this may indicate a risk that property price and rental growth will be limited too. So a regional area may even experience price / rent contraction v's a capital city.

This factor could limit equity growth for later investment where a higher demand capital city property may cost more but be better demanded. Compound growth could assist equity and assist refinance later where a contracted regional property may reduce borrowing capacity later. This occurred in Rockhampton, Townsville etc

As I had suggested earlier, I am not looking at buying first IP for equity growth. Even if it increases at lower rate than urban areas, I am happy with that.

What you are suggesting for regional areas also apply to capital cities. Eg Perth for mining and Brisbane for floods. So that's not the question or my concern.

Never mind, I thought my questions were clear but then instead of assisting, the conversation got side tracked. Anyway, I will seek some professional advice. Thanks for your feedbacks.

Seeking professional advice is great and all, but you may want to rethink the questions you ask them.
