In that case, it's time to buy. It's been down to $3.24 today, up just slightly now.

    Macquarie were bullish on NEA

Macquarie Group Ltd (ASX: MQG) are tipping the Nearmap Ltd (ASX: NEA) share price to hit $4.22 within the next 12 months.

Nearmap shares are already up around 800% over the past 5 years and may have some gas left in the tank if the Macquarie analysts are on the money.

I hope they have improved on their customer service since a couple of years ago. Having been a customer back then I have no intention in investing in them regardless of how well they have been performing in the market in recent times.

Starting to get some email's on this one ,I think it may have went into above 23--24% so far today, just goes to show the vast majority of day week traders aren't going to make ''big-bucks'' in any market..imho..

mickey7,being a ''Noob'' myself this should be quite easy to explain just gotta find the soap-box..

1..With the order that was placed for one day and unless that order is settled it cancels that afternoon at about 10--25 this morning and that placed me way down the line on the waiting list ,as bad news always makes scary headlines as any journalist knows bad news is good news ...

2.Volume is the number of settlements x the number of trades ..

3..X is what the price started XXX ,and this fell like a lead balloon ..

4.Look at this in very simple terms, bad news sounds more important and gathers more attention then the headlines saying XXX is doing ok ..

A good example of bad news sells look at all the GFC , and a Australian Economist Dr Steve King and his forecast that from memory with the sky's is falling example property house prices would fall over 40% unemployment was going to hit above 25 percent ..Dr Keen was wrong but it did not stop him getting more media coverage then all the Australian Economist at the time..

No different from today or last week or next month, some people like bad news they seek it out and dwell upon it ,leave that mindset in the gutter..imho..

Gotcha. It was the "and the small order set one for one day at $1--40 is cancelled.." that got me confused. Makes sense, thx

Nearmap Ltd (ASX: NEA) saw its share price fall around 30% today after the company announced an update for its FY20 year guidance.

The aerial imaging business didn’t have good news for investors in terms of its full year guidance, although the growth numbers for the FY20 half-year result were pretty solid.

For the period ended 31 December 2019 the company’s closing annualised contract value (ACV) grew by 23% on the prior corresponding period to $96.6 million and unaudited statutory revenue rose by 31% to $46.4 million.

Nearmap share price plunges 30% on FY20 update

If one was too look at the trade history from the start till yesterday as there is a troubling mismatch between the blurriness of the definitions and the clarity of consequences that may give some idea all are data linked as there are only a few 24 hour 14% swings..

Yes Willair, Investing is psychology, We assume the worst and remember starkly the times when the worst happened forgetting the all the times it didn't. It is a worry after a upbeat November report this "one off event " happens 3 times ! Is it a reflection of the product quality ? Maybe the sales and support staff are spread to thin in US with Australian sales leaders having to be sent there and splitting there time. The good news is management have acknowledged and are transparent with failings and are recruiting and restructuring the sales team in the USA. and hopefully focus and fix some issues. New companies with new uses need specialist sales skills. Some issues are outside the companies control. The company implied this is not an issue with competetivness but execution. Churn rate was always going to be an issue. The macro-ecomics and market dynamics look good for USA and NEA. A concern is whether operational issues, inappropriate sales incentives and follow up will be fixed. I still think this company can out perform but have less conviction now.

Just looking at the buy range from $1-40 up too the last traded sales range a few minutes ago..

Nothing large numbers wise ,same order is placed as yesterday ,just like looking at gingerbread ladies -men decorated in the shop front window's for sale the only ones that stand out are the ones with more then a couple of dots for each eye ..

When you’re trading at 12x ARR, there’s limited room for error. As experienced these few days. I’d be interested at 4-5x... otherwise plenty of similar plays.
