    Hey guys

The schedule for the 16/17 schedule is being released today!

Thought I'd start a fresh thread for the new season.

Who you got winning the chip?

    Who's going to be MVP?

Who's heading over to the states to watch games this season???!!!

    Cheers

    Jamie

I would have thought that somebody in your profession was more interested in the NAB than the NBA.

If GSW don't win the 2016-17 Championship I'd be extremely surprised. With Durant joining them they'll be extremely hard to beat. I was a big fan of KD when he played at OKC but I won't be able to get behind him now.

If Curry doesn't win MVP this year, it'll be Westbrook.

With their Allstar firepower, I cannot imagine Golden State not winning the title.

However LeBron or Westbrook could win the MVP because of their dominance of the team. Whereas in GSW they would have many people to compete with the ball.

Also well done to the Boomers yesterday. They have played very well against the Dream Team.

Hopefully these two teams will meet again in the final...and the dream team will show why they are called the dream team.

Yes. I would love to see the Boomers getting at least 1 medal of any colour. Silver would be great and Gold would be historic.

with the boomers lineup, they are , on paper at least, the second best team.
They way they played against the dream team in yesterdays game showed that. However, I am very sure they will be outclassed by the dream team if they face off against eachother again.

I've got the Cavs winning it and LBJ getting MVP

Who's planning a trip over to the states this season?

I got another leave pass for a two week trip :)

    Cheers

I can't pick anyone but the Warriors for the finals, Durant is just about as big and an as perfect an upgrade on Barnes as you could conceive that has ever played the game. Durant might fit that system better than Curry. It's a scary thought. They're weak at center though and Bogut is a bigger loss than he probably seems, will be interesting. I seriously hope McGee makes the team because he's awesome value for his stupidity!

Westbrook my early pick for MVP, that team is still a very solid unit and he's put up some other worldly numbers consistently when Durant misses. They should push for playoffs still imo and if they get a 6th seed or better he'd be the man. The other guys are the obvious names.

Also hoping that the Brow can stay healthy and get back to or go past his best because I love watching him play.

100% agree - his presence will be missed more than most realise. His defense is awesome - his passing ability/vision is incredible....and he'd have to be one of the best at setting picks in the league.

    Yep!

    They'll be just fine.

There's no threat out East. Boston will take them to 5 or 6 games in the ECF.

The warriors will come out of the West - all banged up. Their road to the finals is tad tougher - they'll have Portland -> Clips -> Spurs. First two rounds shouldn't be too difficult - Spurs will test them.

At the end of the day - it's going to be Dubs v Cavs 3.0 and both teams are better than last year. The Dubs are going to have to find a more effective way to hide Curry on defense. The Cavs do a good job putting him in pick and roll mismatches.

All in all - it's going to be Cavs in 7 - a Korver 3, assisted by Lebron, will put them up by 1 with 7 seconds to go in game 7.

    Cheers

    Jamie

I would have loved to see warriors vs okc and okc takes them down! Westbrook has to be MVP right?

    Bron

He won't get it - but he's the MVP. We're just accustomed to his greatness - so there's not as much hype. Can you imagine the Cavs without him? If you were picking a team - would you not pick him first?

Westbrook is phenomenal. I've enjoyed watching him this season. What a beast! That game where he broke the record for triple-doubles and hit the buzzer beater was incredible. He'll probably get the MVP (and I won't be mad) - but LeBron is still the best player in the world (and most valuable).

    Cheers

Of course Lebron is still the best, without him the Cavs are junk but you could probably say the same for okc and Westbrook. At least Lebron has some all stars to help out. Westbrook has no one and averaging a triple double is amazing.

No doubt. It's crazy - and yes, OKC without Beastbrook would be a lottery team.

Lebron's the real MVP though. He's been too good for too long - it goes unnoticed.

Whilst Lebron is def a king, you can't compare him against Westbrook!

Westbrook is making history and bring a poor team into the playoffs.

Lebron has it over him in a career sense so far, but pound for pound, this surely has to be Westbrook as MVP.

And I say that as an ORL fan who had Westbrook dominate us recently haha
