    Hi,

I am all for improvements on the roads but getting sick of replacing tyres due to finding nails on the car tyres. I park my car in a secure place btw. Anyone have any tips or tricks to avoid this or is it just luck?

Do you drive close to the gutter or median strip? Middle lanes are probably the safest for your tyres.

Are you not able to have your tyres repaired? Maybe you can change them to ones that are more suitable.

Get a puncture kit or just pay the $25 to repair the puncture.
Shouldn't need to replace baca use of a nail hole.

Buy some decent tyres with good tread - have a look at some mud tyres.

Don't be an a-hole to your neighbours.
Are you parking in the visitor spot?

Ask the bloke at your local tyre store to de-magnetise the steel belts in your tyres.

Got to admit, I've wedged a couple of nails behind some fwits tyres in the past as he was a real dhed and completely deserved it.
Felt better after that when I saw the nails were gone.

You don't live in a "flat" by any chance?

You have to "Wheelie Brace" yourself when that tyre goes down.

    Enough to send you "Nuts".

It can "undo" and "Jack" you up.

Once the "Change" is over, the "Pressure" is back up and just hope another pr!ck doesn't let you down again.

I used to do that but that was back at my parent's place in the Northern beaches. Those days are long gone!

Luckily, paid $40 for the puncture fix. And yes going to buy a kit!

    Thanks for the tip guys!

If you want value, go to Bridgestone whilst they have the buy 3 and get 4th free.

When you get 4 tyres with them they give you free tyre rotation and puncture repair at any of there locations too.

Ah that would be the price for one with the NB tax :p

Have you had a look around to a where they are coming from, very unusual and unlucky to get regularly nailed

It's hard to understand how nails get into tyres.

i.e Random nail lying flat on the ground.
    Car tyre drives over it.
Nail somehow positions it's pointy end perfectly to penetrate the tough rubber tyre.

I'd bet if you threw a whole box of 1000 nails down on the ground in a car park and drove over them multiple times you may have trouble getting one to stick.

There has been a lot of constructions going on around my area and also in Parra, so I am thinking that it was due to one of those events. I guess two nails in the tyre in 2 years is not a bad thing.

If that's the case, would think my chances of winning lotto is going to be pretty good!
