My son has got involved with a rip off merchant and we don't know what to do. He put a boat in for repairs on a verbal quote and now the guy just keeps upping the price each time he comes. My son has handed him large amounts of cash to fix this car and he just keeps saying there is more work so do. He has just paid him another $5k which he said would finish the work and now he says its another $7k on top of that and wont give the car back until its paid. I think the police wont do anything and will say its a civil matter. Any ideas would be truly appreciated

Get an itemised receipt asap. Will give proof of work that was claimed was completed and costs.

    And yeah, boat or car
