Thanks for the recommendation - we just watched it tonight. Been a big fan of Chiwetel Ejiofor since The Shadow Line.
I love a true story about ingenuity and persistence! Enjoyed it very much. Except when his dog died (spoiler).

    Holmes & Watson was boring
Mary Poppins was average at best & nowhere near as good as the original
What Men Want was watchable, but didn't leave me wanting more
The Mule was enjoyable, but nothing to write home about
Glass was boring. I expected so much more from this
Hubby wants to see Alita, but the reviews aren't great. Not looking forward to it.
    Cold Pursuit wasn't great either

Where have all the good movies gone?

I saw On the Basis of Sex on the weekend. My friend and I had to stop ourselves cheering through it. Ruth Ginsberg was a real pioneer for women's rights and I loved every second of the movie. Felicity Jones was brilliant in it. Well worth a watch!

I saw that the other night as well & thought it was decent. It moved slower than I like, but I really enjoyed the story.

My daughter (11) wanted to see it, so I took her along. I quite enjoyed it, but I think you have to have a certain appreciation for Manga and similar. I quite like the style, and it satisfied my daughter desire to see a bad ass female character.

    Cheers,

The music was great. Like any biop, liberties were taken with the facts, but the movie was really enjoyable.

I saw the preview to this and thought it looked very similar to The Fault in Our Stars. Have you seen that? Would you say they are comparable?

Yeah nothing fantastic so far and a lot of movies going off hype. Hopefully John Wick 3 won't dissappoint. From the trailer, I think it'll be good.

I quite enjoyed Top End Wedding.

It is really just a rom com with a plot which is nothing new, but still nicely done. The setting in the NT really added to it. Some great cameos of the NT scenery, and some interesting cultural insight of the Tiwi Island Indigenous community. 8 out of 10.
