I should have been paying attention over the long weekend! Did you go?

It has been years since I have ridden the Oaks - definitely due for a trip out there.

    Property Chat Oaks ride soon?

    Cheers,
    Inertia.

I didn't do it! But... can definitely do it as a PC ride.

Using the pallet I ended up spending some time practising riding down "kerbs" on a unicycle yesterday... Had 1 very good fall.... a very nice hip bruise as a result.

Thought I'd bump this post back up and brag about my latest purchase :)

Just ordered my first carbon bike - a Canyon Spectral 9.0 pro 27.5. Now just counting down the days for this badboy to arrive from Germany........ :D

Anyone else getting out riding much?

    Cheers

    Jamie

I just bought a Canyon Aeroad road frame for racing. So far I'm pretty happy with it. I'd say their MTB quality would be just as good. Enjoy.

I got a serviced office in town about 12 months ago after spending 18 months working from my shed and not getting out enough.

Now I get an hour each day, about 28ks return, off road bike path the whole way. It gets pretty crowded spring and summer. It’s a great way to break up the day.

Had a rush of blood to the head and bought a specialised frame off a friends son who keeps growing. I then ruined it by transferring everything from my cross bike instead of buying new components. There’s only so many bikes possible for married men....

Its easier to ask for forgiveness, than it is to seek permission....

Mate that is a mad rig well done
Ive go a Canyon Strive AL6 and cannot fault it. The limitation will be your own fears of hitting mad gaps or rock gardens

    enjoy

Nice one @Jamie Moore . My current ride is a 2018 S-Works Stumpjumper. A good all rounder that still goes Ok in endurance races.

Stumpy’s are a nice bike! They were on my shortlist - it was either a stumpy, YT Jeffsy or Canyon.

    Thanks!

I can’t wait for it to arrive. I’m averaging around 3 rides per week (100km or so on the trails) so it will get plenty of use.

    Nice!

I haven’t heard a bad thing about Canyon - their build quality is amazing and everyone that’s ridden them loves them. Now just need to wait a few weeks for it to arrive.....only so many times I can log into the delivery tracking website

I noticed chain reaction has wheels on sale at the moment... thinking of converting my 29er hardtail into a 27.5+ singlespeed... ask forgiveness you say?

    Cheers,

    My back up quote is:

You're always in the poo....it's just the depth that varies!

I say go for it! Tell the wife 'pinkboy said it was ok'! ;)

There's always ways to justify a bike purchase :)

It's exercise/healthy - can be used for commuting (cutting down travel costs).

My "new" bike is also "safer" than my old one ;)

    Cheers

I've used all of those, I need more.

I actually need to unload some stuff, so maybe I can claim the 1 out, 1 in rule... (even though I already did the 1 in a few months back...)

    Cheers,
    Inertia.

I don't condone the following - but I thought it was a funny story to share.....

My friend had an older model Giant.

He sold it on Gumtree - some dude picked it up and he went out to the local bike shop a few days later to buy a new one.

He told his wife the old bike was being picked up for repairs/service.....she was amazed at how well they cleaned it when he brought it back......of course, the clean bike was his brand spanking new one :)

    Cheers

Going for a ride tomorrow morning, 9am H2O trail at Westleigh (near Thornleigh). If you go you’ll see a bunch of Unicyclists :)
