The ALP have got this one. Albo has binned the disastrous wealth redistribution stuff and is now channeling Hawke.

The electorate will look past the ALPs historical debacles for a new start of not having to look at Scomos melon. After two years of COVID19 he is associated with that which the country wants to leave behind (like Churchill after WW2….and Scomo is no Churchill).

In the senate, voting above the line - it depends on how the voter marks the ballot. There can still be preferences marked above the line, and these votes are distributed as marked. It's only when there aren't preferences marked that they are distributed according to the party's intent. The party's preferences are chosen before the ballot, it's not as if the party gets to decide at ballot time.

    I forgot that bit. Thanks.

I have never, and won't, vote above the line by the way. I consider it is lazy. Too many people, including lots of women, went through many difficulties and hardships to gain us voting rights. I'm not in favour of throwing their hard work away.

Nothing more satisfying than putting Fred Nile last for the NSW elections...

It's a toss up between the Fred rep and the Pauline/Clive rep

She was before her time ... Australia wasn't (and I still doubt if they still are) ready for a female leader.

I think Julie Bishop would've been brilliant ... and the best leader is one that is very capable, but doesn't want the job. Means they're there for the job, not the position

I am, and believe there is a current female politician that would make an outstanding PM. I won't say who as I can't be bothered with the responses.

TP or PW (if she quits the Senate) ;)

If Labor wins with Albo, I reckon he will be rolled in the first 12 months - I can hear them sharpening the factional knives right now in the party back rooms .

I'd be okay with TP, PW or even KK (but she would have to lose the yank accent to be accepted by the general populous)

    Become a demiguy.

Demiguy: Someone who was assigned male at birth but does not fully identify with being a man, socially or mentally.

    They must accept you.

Yep, sorry mate I know that. There seems to be a perception among the community that parties can somehow direct preferences themselves rather than the voter being I charge. I was just checking to see if that needed to be clarified as it seemed like we were talking about the house of reps.
