    What say you?

    I voted libs.

Far from happy with sco mo but at the end of the day, libs still best represent many of my values more than any other party

You left out my party of choice: The Sun-ripened Tomato Party (they're a bit more Red than the Greens).

The Sun-Ripened Warm Tomato Party got my first preference vote in the first ACT elections.

My second preference vote went to the Party! Party Party followed by the Surprise Party.

Always been a lib voter but that may change in the next election. I feel they need to be held accountable for their poor management of the pandemic. Primarily not learning the lessons of, and acting on, what was occurring around the rest of the world. Asleep at the wheel.
Plus Scomo is a ineffective rubbish leader.

Ewww, Liberal by name only. I'd personally never vote in my own self-interest, which they would probably do, but on the backs of future generations, minorities, women and the environment and I'm not cool with that.

I'll probably go Science Party #1, though their pro-nuclear stance is stupid.
But only if my citizenship comes through in time. After all, I've only lived here for 23.5 years. :D

Labor. I’m a working class man.

“Working hard to make a living
    Bringing shelter from the rain
A father's son left to carry on
    Blue denim in his veins
Oh oh oh he's a working class man“

Undecided but Albo is a very good opposition leader hasn't really convinced me he will be better than Scomo. Sometimes the dross you know is a safer choice.

Greens first then Liberal. Liberal have done well with the economy but there's just something off with the way they operate. Mismanaged the China situation, ****** of France, no details on the submarine deal, just blindly follow US. No review of the Afghanistan disaster. Operate by leaking information to the press instead of having a spine. Let's not forget..."it's not a race".

But I'll still put them second because they've managed the economy well and I don't know what Labor even stand for anymore

I'd argue we've only had one PM worse than Scomo in the past half-century (before that, I have no idea about them).

Which values would they be, mate? I didn't think the Liberals had any. :D

With the greatest respect, how could you possibly think that?

They wasted 40 billion giving job keeper to businesses that didn't need it. 40 billion! And they quibble about free rapid antigen tests.

Before the pandemic, national debt under the coalition doubled what it was when Labor left office in 2013. We are now approaching a trillion dollar deficit with not much to show for it.

If you think a coalition government taxes you less, think again:

Fact check: Are the two highest-taxing governments of the past 30 years both Coalition governments?

They have no vision for the future - where is our green economy plan? Would you buy shares in a company with no strategic plan?

And if you want some current evidence on how the economy is going, check out your local supermarket shelves.

That kind of tenure would have made Scomo a much better PM than he has been.

In essence, the value for equality of opportunity but not equality of outcome. The latter requires a great amount of tyranny at the expense of the conscientious. I'll never stand for that.

    So libs it is.

    Sorry, but that's absolutely untrue!
Look at the costs of tertiary education, as just a single example. If what you were saying was true, why do so many children of poor people end up poor while so many children of rich people end up rich? Do poor people just want to be poor?

There also isn't a party in Australia that's looking for equality of outcome, contrary to what many people will tell you.

This will spiral into long and pointless debates of which I am not bothered to get into, primarily because it leads no where.

However, aren't tertiary fees first covered by HECS, then when you work you start paying it back? That's what I did.

If we were starting from a level playing field, sure, maybe. But we're not. Hard work is rarely enough - you also need luck, opportunity and quite a lot of the time, privilege.

There are a lot of really incompetent people who continually fail upwards due to their connections. I can think of one 'prime' example.

And yeah yeah I know you don't want to get into it, but I don't think the LNP actually reflect those values at all.

If the Liberal party was what they are supposed to be, which is what I expected Malcolm's term to be, i.e. economically conservative, socially progressive small 'L' liberal then those values might be closer. But the current party bears no resemblance to a those values as far as I can see. It's pure cronyism.

You're of course free to believe what you want, I just wish you would apply that due diligence blowtorch you use for your investment decisions on your political choices. Have a squiz under the hood mate. :D

I typed 2 paragraphs to respond and then just deleted it because its a waste of time. Its the same issue every time. Ideological and philosophical differences in beliefs.

Just vote will ya on the poll if you haven't already. I take it your vote aint going to Libs...? :p
