The heading of this article is funny!! $1 mill in 20 years?!
Magazine is from August 2011. (If you are wondering why I'm reading it, I'm at a medical centre waiting for a doctor).

Now I would have easily made a million between now and then. (At that point in time I owned 2 Sydney IPs and a Sydney PPOR).

And from the property page of that magazine with capital city house price predictions (remember, it's August 2011)

To be fair though, most people don't profit 1mil in a lifetime so 20 years would be enticing.

I think the viewers that they are trying to attract are the rather conservative and lacking the 'money IQ'. I do quite like the section when they talk about good value wines and possible holiday saving tips.

Gotta say though, the magazine looked like it had hardly been opened. It was in nearly mint condition!

Perth did boom between 2013-2014. However, end of 2014 it peaked and market was in free fall. Fast forward 2017, Perth may now have hit the bottom? not quite sure, will tell you in six months time.

    Have not read complete article

There are so many of these type of articles nowadays. I stopped my subscription to YIP magazine recently as it's all the same dribble over the over again. I always find the stories of people that have recently made money in Sydney as they were just lucky with timing and now they think they are experts and they purchase property in QLD and fail miserably as they clearly have no idea how to invest.

All mainly single topic magazines basically cover same ground over and over.

Looks like reading August 2011 could have been life changing.

I would have read an API not long after that granny flats - changed my life by giving me a way to hang on to 3 blue chip Sydney IPs.

There is good stuff there if your mind is open.
