True. For me it's not just about the money though.

Take my lunch to work, drink water and eat fruit sounds perfect to me. I just need to get of my butt and organise it. Like I said above, it's not just about money. I can easily afford to buy lunch and invest. However, it seems wasteful to pay that much for food. More importantly, it is very difficult to buy quick, healthy meals. I can buy healthier options but they will take time to prepare. I need to further improve the quality of my food and lunch is a great starting point. At the same time as improving my health, I will be saving money. This is a win-win in my books.

I love leftovers. If I could have leftovers for lunch every day for the rest of my life, I would be a very happy man :)

I liked the GTIR (Baby godzilla) AWD with a SR20-DET :).

Nissan did a whole bunch of good 4pots FJ20 (common swap in a Datto 180 or 200) CA18 (as used in the Exa) SR20 not to mention their 6cyl's. They sure do know how to make a good motor :). Shame the emissions control makes it harder and harder for them each generation.

These were all great engines. Just seemed to keep going no matter how hard to you pushed them. I've had 3 cars with SR20's. 2 were DET and my SSS was a DE. All three were great. Wish I had gotten an RB car. I love the sound of those 6 cylinders.

Yeah, mine does still flash up some Xbox options every now and then.
It was a little sucky trying to get full screen too.

I'm not an advocate for buying brand new cars. 90% of accountants will agree, however if it is a must, try buying a car on the last day of the calendar month. Dealers and salesmen need to hit certain KPI's so if it has been a lean month they will cut a good deal just to get their turnover figures up.

I recycle the zip-lock lunch bags...after I take my lunch to work of course! :p

Money Hack thread morphs to Steptoe thread.

When the kids were little and before all the competition from internet booking sites, those Accor and other similar businesses used to be phoning all the time wanting us to attend their presentations. We scored a free three night stay in their resort in Cairns one year for attending a sales pitch. We also accessed several over-night trips to the Gold Coast and Sunny Coast that we never paid for.

We have both ziplock bags and just no name plastic ones which require a knot or wire tie. A bag of those is 1/10 price of zip lock bags. Well so I have been told by the Mrs - for being lazy and taking zip lock ones all the time.

My sister has been prowling a local Toyota dealership, knew exactly what she wanted, they allowed her to take the car home overnight etc, still would not throw in the extras she wanted so she stayed put. Sure enough, they have come back to her and agreed, delivery Thursday. Mind you, I could never buy a brand new car, too frugal, but good luck to her, she is delighted.

Interesting - what were they trying to sell you? AFAIK Accor just run hotels, so I've not heard any sales pitch.

    Good one.

We did one of those too several years ago.... I stood up at the Meeting and asked if we could have our own independant everyone - conveyancer, loan person, valuer, etc.

Sound of crickets, and we left.

    Hi guys, great thread!

I laughed at the repeated mentions of kodi + exodus and/or torrents. That's so dodgy! Keen eyes will notice that my avatar includes the Kodi logo, I'm a huge fan of the software but don't use exodus.

For those who are interested, one of the most convenient uses I'm doing with my Kodi is to use the addons for Australian TV channels. you don't get any ads! So if you watch Plus7, and pick a random show (e.g. House Rules) there won't be any ads, unlike the equivalent app on Smart TVs, tablets, and smartphones!

It's a money hack coz it saves time, and we all know time is money :)

Definitely know of time share, just never realised Accor did them too. There you go, I've learned something! :D

    Hehe.
I even reuse freezer bags if it only had bread in it. Don't want to be a turtle killer :(
