    Hi All,
    I'm now looking for a phone plan, with something like 2Gb or more a month data for the best price. Preferably a not locked in contract. I previously had Vaya but thinking 1.5GB might be a bit on the low side.

    Anybody have recommendations?

    Does it have to be a plan? Some of the prepaid providers are amazing.

    As a bonus there's never an issue with billing and if they drop the ball you can just move.

    On the low side you have Coles with 3GB for $20 per month, 35 day expiry
    Coles mobile | Coles
    It used to be 2GB with 28day expiry
    uses Optus network

    there are some good 12 month sim only deals going around, with TPG coming in there is competition to lock people in on good deals. There are rumours that in next year or so, the general shift is to unlimited

    Plenty of prepaid around - just depends how much you want to pay and which carrier that ultimately provides the connection.

    Kogan has a full year prepaid with Vodafone
    Amaysim and plenty of others.

    That Exetel looks like good value. I am with Aldi 25 a month 100minutes international calls and 3G data everything else unlimited. Best part is it uses Telstra network

    I'm with Aldi. I like it cause you can change the amount each month depending on your needs. Last month I was working a lot so only took the 3Gb plan for $24 for the month. This month I'm going to be home more so I'm paying extra for the 8Gb plan. Your data also rolls over each month. Another bonus for me is it's the only network that works inside the crappy unit I live in.

    Also have a year long plan available for purchase from tomorrow. $249 for 12 months, 42 GB for the year.
    ALDImobile 1 year Super Pack - ALDI Australia

    I think the 1.5 GB is definitely too small for a technology aware person. For instance I'm listening to Spotify in the car a lot more now that I have more data available. (I'm on a 6 GB plan, I have been over 4 GB for the month. My wife who is not a tech person sometimes struggles on 1.5.)

    Otherwise Kogan has some good annual deals. But I do like the also annual data rather than the monthly for other plans.

    As above, depends on how much you want to pay as well as the location you are in i.e do you need to be on Telstra for coverage etc?

    I'm with Telechoice which uses the Telstra network, so get the bonus of good coverage as well.

    I initially went with a 12 month contract for $29 per month with 5.5GB of data, but at the moment their deals are as follows for no contract;

    $28/month 3GB
    $30/month 5GB
    $38/month 10GB

    There are some slight variances with the 12 month contracts. I haven't had any issues with them at all and it was all setup online and through live chat. They do have a few stores though if you wanted to do it in house.

    Best value plan I've possibly ever seen, on the other scale of things, is the current $149 or $135 if student Optus plan;

    - includes iPhone x (im not an apple fan but undoubtedly it's a very expensive phone) or the pixel 2xl I believe or s8 etc
    - 200GB data, no not a misprint, for many it can replace the need for an internrt plan at home especially if live alone or not on nbn
    - unlimited roaming calls to land line and mobiles domestically and back to aust etc
    - 1.5gb roaming data monthly
    - unlimtrd international calls to some coubtries and I believe a decent allowance to others
    - Optus sport - $15/mth otherwise to those on sub $50 or so plans
    - a lot of streaming services don't count towards data allowance

    When you consider the phone is worth somewhere in region of $900-1500 depending on choice, for a 24 mth contract $50 or so would count towards the phone, meaning the balance is $100/mth. Pretty outstanding value
