What for? Waste of a flight unless you're working there or visiting family. If you're thinking about bargain hunting I'd think again.

It'd be like going fruit-picking once the mangoes have fallen off the tree... :)

On the other hand, if you're going sight-seeing Karanjini is a beautiful spot for a few days of camping.

It's a bloody long way to go for a look. And cost of fortune in flights! Better off googling or making a holiday of it for a few weeks and hire a motor home.
Or better yet fly up to mackay or townsville, even brissy and hire a car and check out the towns

Get in early before vacancy rates fall below 40% & days on market get below 15 months.

I haven't been up there this year, but last year there was a heap of construction in PH, and loads of empty houses - particularly anything older.
You can buy a bargain up there, but be aware it may not rent and that insurance is excruciating.
South Hedland is not what I'd call a lifestyle choice. Lots of social issues.

That said, I loved it for the few months I was up there, it's such an interesting place. Hubby hated it but his work was difficult. So many beautiful places to see around there as well - Karajini is amazing.
