    errr maybe not,
    the ground RL adjacent to mascot towers is around 5.5m-6.0m AHD
    - low lying yes - but i'm not sure if it was reclaimed land.
    the water table and soil composition may have more to do with it.
    (a Geotech Engineer would have some more insights)

    if however cracking / structural displacement was evident then i would be surprised if some form of survey monitoring wasn't in place.
    like it was at mascot. 24/7
