    Consent Orders filed in the Family Court are binding and much more affordable than a BFA, and with a Court Stamp on them to boot. <$3k A decent BFA will be double that.

    As someone recently going through this, I would say butt out.
    It's stressful enough without third parties getting involved.

    Support your friend, but stay out of the asset division.

    I've found everyone has an opinion and it really isn't helpful, just causes more distress.

    I'm sure they are capable of working it out themselves, in which case they are making decisions with their eyes open. If they're happy with the split, that's all that matters.

    I would much rather come out of said situation with $5k then a mortgage I struggle to/ cant afford to pay.

    Maybe they went 5% deposit
    And being young they wanted a brand new v8 commodore with large wheels
    And managed to use the offset
    Or the valur of the prop fell
    Or they cobsolifated ddebts from a personal loan
