I always have a bit of a laugh at G-Shock's underlying message - the watch will survive an incident that you will not (assuming you don't crash and burn or sink beyond it's water resistance)

Yeah bit ironic coming from "ozhiker".

"Live streaming killed real nature. You can get videos of nature on any streaming service, therefore a waterfront property is simply no longer relevant for providing those views, and so you've just got an expensive property in your portfolio now"

Has the demand for luxury watches come off some what with the economy starting to slow and talk of recession? I just got a call from the Sydney Rolex dealership offering me a watch I put my name down for a few months back. Was told to expect a 2 year wait initially. It’s the 43mm sea dweller in osyter steel and yellow gold combination. Or maybe that’s just not the most popular model. It’s the look that I like and that’s how I pick my watches.

Yes it’s come off. Watches are pro-cyclical. Lots of crossover with crypto and growth Bros. 8B8C7548-EA7E-4960-915E-12E11EC50FEC.png

I hear from grey dealers that demand has dropped off.

Was surprised to get the call saying they have one for me. I expressed interest back in December and was told it could be up to a 2 year wait. No complaints from me, I’ll take it.

Have only purchased one watch from them previously, about a year ago.

    Yeah nah ;)

a video can never replace the air, the view, the light, the terpines of say cradle mountain or even the blue mountains.

Our bodies react in a fundamental way to being in nature.

can’t say that about by PP nautilus…

my true portfolio are all the amazing locations to explore in oz. We are blessed :)

Rolex called earlier. I thought they’d called me to come and collected my Rootbeer Eversose GMT. More the pity.

They called to say my profile could do with some “strengthening” to put me closer to the top of the list and then said they’d got a DJ41. I said I wasn’t interested, however, tell me you’ve got my Rootbeer and I’ll be over within 20 mins.

Looks like stock and availability are improving as another guy above said he was offered a DJ, just the more sort after we’re still having to wait for.

I was in South Korea recently, and pretty much I was able to buy any Tudor watches of choice but had to make an appointment to visit a Rolex dealer.

    Hi all,
Been stalking this thread for a while and finally joined the club. I like old tarnished things, (like me). Its a 1956 6494 Oyster Date with the roulette date and I love it (some hate the smaller retro format but each to their own).
