@willair good taste. My PAM796 lefty gets a lot of wear these days…the bezel gets a bit scuffed but doesn’t bother me anymore. Panerai seems to stand out to non-enthusiasts, get more interest in this than other watches. 417E5AB7-4F65-4CFF-BF97-53DE4EF579F7.jpeg

Thank you gentleman. Appreciate the feedback. While I do want something that has potential to gain value, It would have to be pleasing to my eye as well. Would not buy a watch that has the potential to be a solid investment but doesn't fit the look I like.

I did read the article about the Chinese buying watches as a store of wealth. We are definitely living in crazy times.

Where do you find these grey dealers and can they be trusted?

Browsing the Rolex website, I think the sea dweller with the two tone band is the look I like best. 43mm face is nice and big, the face is not too busy and a little bit of gold adds some bling without being too much.

Plenty of grey dealers around mate. Just google "Watch Dealers Sydney" or Melb or whichever city your in. Or you can use Chrono24 - they have buyers protection. Otherwise join the facebook watch pages like "Australian Watch Market" or "Rolex & Tudor Australia - Buy and Sell" - heaps of places here in AU to buy grey market.

I'm surprised at how many older millenials and Gen Ys are geeking out about vintage watches these days.
It's like going back in time when the ideal 40th birthday give was a watch.

Where did you hear Producer Michael wears fake watches? His watches are 1000000000000000% real. He buys from some of the biggest dealers in New York, San Fran and some major major players in the watch game including Luxury Bazaar etc....

There is nothing in that video above that is fake.

Ben Baller said that? Can you please share that link?

Ben Baller should know ALL the dealers Michael buys off and he will know from all of producer Michaels videos on Youtube and there are 100s of them - none of those watches on ANY of those videos are fake.

I'm 35. Turning 36 soon. Real estate has been very very very very kind to me. A lot of ppl know I started my journey when I was 21 buying in St Marys/Mt Druitt in Sydney way way back. Now I look back and I'm so thankful of what Real Estate has given me and my family and these toys.

Your missing out not owning a DayDate presidential - you need to get yourself one. Those are the pinnacle of Rolex models. They are nicer than the sport models in all honesty and I've owned pretty much every single model Rolex now. The DD40s especially in Rose Gold are selling for more than the sports models these days. Ppl are realising these are the bees knees. :)

I'll post my AP collection later for you to enjoy. LOL

Hahahaha - you will learn my friend. Just give it time. DD40 is the "ultimate" Rolex. Not sure how deep into the watch game you are but you will come to realise this as well. The old view was that the DayDate was an old mans watch simply because of price point - usually ppl could not afford those pieces until retirement age.

These days due to Real Estate and Crypto I know 25 year olds wearing DD40s with full gem set dials and bezels. Those are crazy prices especially factory set gems.

Man I used to be purely a Stainless Steel guy. I used to hate gold. I've done a complete U-turn now. I even appreciate gem set Rolex/AP now they are some heavy hitter pieces.

My collection previously was all Steel - SS Daytona, Hulk, BLRO, BLNR even an Explorer II. I fell for the hype back then - sold all of them off for a big profit and now I only wear gold. Some of the big watch collectors I'm good friends with have all moved off Steel pieces and purely into gold as well.

They want exclusivity and with Rolex as the price point gets larger the buyer base shrinks bigtime - hence being more exclusive. They have influenced me on my watch journey as well.

You've seen prices for Rose Gold DD40s right? LOL - they sell for ALOT more than the sport pieces - especially the Olive and Chocolate dials. Lets not even talk about Rose Gold Skydweller prices now. I'm going to have a heart attack looking at them.

Lol I only buy watches I would wear, not a collector. I’d trade those DD presidential for a Porsche 911

Daytona, Sub, GMT are the only Rolex models I can see myself wearing.

    Show me your AP RO.
