As requested by @Sim, reposting my suggestion.

Maybe in the future you might be able to gain support from a data provider and offer a membership that includes access to a data provider in some form too.

    That's a good idea.
@Daisycutter4 Does API have a subscriber login where you can see past months data?

My pricefinder 3mth trial has just ended thanks to the API mag subscription deal. I could really do with some more :)

Good idea. the members fees appeal to the business folk for use of banners etc to promote themselves/business but for the punters there's not much benefit for additional services other than supporting such an awesome community

    I agree.

But the common newb may not realise the history in the forum and work and people involved to get it where is.plus the importance of continuing it

This is true . they will become ordinary members .Hopefully when they make their first mill , they'll remember sim , slaving away over his keyboard to keep this place going .... ( for those who don't know sim , that means spending most of his time in the chat room ....

I just signed up for the 3yr subscription recently.

You get a 3mth trial to pricefinder for signing up.

According to the terms you can get a full refund of remaining months if you cancel at any time.

Reading between the lines....what if you cancel, then sign up again? renewed pricefinder trial? Has anyone tried doing this?

We don't at present @Azazel but I sit near the IT person and he says 'Stay tuned' - there might be some changes soon (being a touch secretive I think). Doesn't help for now though.

Pretty sure they would knock it back, work around may be to provide different email address as I know your log in is linked to your email address to activate account

A new email takes 5mins to set up. Use and discard :).

Pretty easy workaround i think if that is the case. Unless they keep tabs on your payment method or mailing address (for delivery purposes)

Perhaps a deal can be struck to include membership to the forum plus mag subscription plus data. You guys can do the numbers but seems like win win for all.
I'd like the package deal option.
Possibly easier to claim at tax time with a physical mag included rather than just forum membership??

Thanks, sounds promising. Would be great rather than thumbing through pages of data in old issues.

Wouldn't make any difference to deductibility.

Its tax deductible either way. Either get it if the site is valuable to you, or don't get it if it isn't or if you're not in a position to at the moment. No point going backwards and forwards on it - it's a simple yes/no exercise.

+1 for this, I locked in the same deal, certainly incentivising anything has a certain appeal for retaining membership and keeping a higher than normal retention rate
