Where’s Canterbury, Surrey Hills, Mount Albert? They easily beat 2/3 of the list

How times change. I grew up in Mulgrave - I think it was seen as the middle of nowhere type place....

Not a single Bayside suburb? Lol

I'd live in Hampton, Black Rock or Beaumaris 1000x over Aberfeldie and most of the bluechip suburbs on that list.

Where the hell is East Doncaster? This list is an outrage.

There's a number there that I would disagree with, but I guess "livability" is subjective.
Some of those areas are atrocious for daily traffic and parking, and I prefer to drive rather than walk/tram/train, so while a nice Suburb, South Yarra is not somewhere I would want to live because of the inconvenience of getting around by car. E.g. a quick drive to the shops, is not that in South Yarra. But to the person who is happy to walk 10 mins everywhere, or happy to train and tram around, then South Yarra might be perfect for them.

If I was doing my own list, the only place I'd probably have there of suburbs I know are Glen Waverley, Malvern, Rowville, Burwood, Mulgrave, Wantirna South. A little bit further out from the CBD, but better access to open spaces, less traffic, easy drive to ammenities, local shopping centres, less busy than the closer to the city areas, less boozed up or drug fuelled 20 year olds on a Saturday night.

Areas like Oakleigh, Chadstone, Mount Waverley are also very livable for what I desire, but they might not be $6 Chai Late trendy enough areas for some.

Coburg haha. Shouldn't be on the list. Traffic sucks around Coburg, and lots of industrial stuff.

It's worth noting from the report:

"...Property price performance is another more heavily-weighted metric - suburbs with lower property prices but higher growth prospects fare batter than those with higher current prices, or lower prospects for growth."
