@willair When it says odds $8.50 what does it mean? I understand odds in terms of 50 to 1 etc.

    Thanks Guys.

Plan to drop a small amount this year as I do every year. Maybe $200.

I'm still a couple of grand ahead.

    Any favourite?

Oh, there's a horse race on today.

Zero productivity, the race which stops the nation.

As they run the race at school pickup time - haven't followed it for over 20 years ... and won't ever follow it in the future.

Don't get me wrong - I fully understand that an industry cannot produce 40,000+ horses a year (24,000 in NSW alone) without "wastage". There is no way that number of horses can be re-homed on an annual basis. And that wastage is converted into consumer-able meat - which is eaten in many countries. But horses are not "dumb" like cows and sheep, and a humane and calm method of slaughter needs to be developed - instead of trying to pretend slaughter doesn't exist

My fellas - and yes - the one in the middle is an ex-racehorse

I placed mine a week ago, i got Finche @ 13 to 1 for the win and 4 to 1 for the place and I got Constantinople @ 7 to 1 for the win and 2.5 to 1 for the place.

Constantinople has since blown out to 9 for the win and 3 for the place but Finche is looking good for me.

I am considering also putting on a boxed Trifecta and a Boxed Exacta with 2,11,19,23 <-- this is not tips or advice, this is just what I am thinking of doing :)

@Dan Donoghue can get $3 for Constantinople to finish top 10 on Points bet - that's a juicy place bet :)

If you're going to do that 4 also commit to the boxed first 4!

Actually that would be 15/2 or 7.5 to 1.
i.e. For every dollar you wager you win $7.50 and your total return is $8.50 which is inclusive of your stake.

Nah - the tall fella in the middle :D ... the one in the back is my mustering horse ... the one in the front is my daughter's "herd leader".

They were all a bit fat then (pre-drought)
