Confirmed - 8pm tonight (NOT midnight - no going out tonight!!) for 7 days

Dan: "Just look at what's happening in other parts of the country ~ and we don't want that"

I wonder where he was referring to :D

Give it time and some clown with Covid, from Sydney, will unlawfully enter Vic and bolster your numbers. We can't have you falling behind!:D

LOL - Victoria again!!!! WTF......is it lockdown number 6 or 7 now, maybe 10?

Getting out of hand now seriously. If we cant wake up to the fact that lockdown after lockdown after lockdown is NOT the way forward we are all doomed!!!!

Business down there got no hope. Watch all the suicide rates skyrocket, all the mental health issues and all the other stuff everyone has forgotten about. I saw kids talking about self harm because of all this rubbish.

How much does it need to these pollies that ZERO covid cases CANNOT be sustained.

2 short lockdowns is still better than one long one.
As far as I'm concerned we just don't have the ability to open up yet until there are more people vaccinated so that we can end lockdowns and be able to cope with the number of cases/hospitalisations post vaccination.

And frustrating that we keep being told to get vaccinated by government. Junior tried to book for AZ and there was nothing available until end of September in our area

Ok, so I went shopping in MEL and report the following:
    • I thought this was a lockdown? I saw as many people at Woolies at 5:10pm as on any afternoon.
    • Is this lockdown v6.0 lighter than previous? I remember last time we had a ONE person could leave the home ONCE a day for shopping - - ok I can't seem to find that on the DHHS site now, and there were whole families in woolies o_O
    • Good to see mask compliance in the shop was 100%. Some people wearing disposable gloves (always a sign things are serious)
    • Very few masks being worn outside
    • The shelves are full - business as usual.

The outdoor gym/playground here in Docklands opposite the library had a good few not very distanced patrons. During the big lockdown it was security fenced.

The whole ‘one person’ does the shopping thing falls flat when there’s only one adult in the household. I’ve had to drag my 6 yo to the shops because I can’t leave her home by herself and she’s not going to school.

Noticed the same. Such ignorance - do they not follow the news! I might contact lendlease, as that is putting all nearby apartment dwellers at risk.

MEL - new cases, source currently unknown - lockdown to be extended at least 7 days. This is turning out to be a bugger to extinguish!!

Had 2 infecteds from NSW attempt incursion into VIC last night - they managed to board the flight, and found to have no permit when they landed. Now we have a plane load of people (who were legitimately travelling on valid exceptions) having to quarantine.

Yep - would not be a surprise given we still haven't figured out where this current chain came from - it's genomics are different to the one we quashed in lockdown #5.

I hope they are charged if they were not supposed to be travelling, and I assume they knew they were infected.
