    World wide shortage.

It's all those millennials and their smashed avocado on toast.

And in Mexico, the narcos are muscling in on the plantations.

I saw on the news there was some kind of brawl, in Europe I think, over some discounted Nutella. If the avocado shortage goes on long enough maybe there will be a brawl over that too!

In Italy Nutella hazelnut flavour is totally different to what we have in Oz, its just not the same here. Going back to Italy this year, must bring some back to Oz.

    Its addictive, bit like vegemite...:)

OK guys, my daughter bombed out... biatch... she's gone out with her friends.

What did I cook today....to cover 5 days (only 3 at home)

Zucchini, onion, tomato with fresh basil, garlic and olive oil, just cook it up and add seasoning as required.

Roasted/char grilled capsicums (red) with tomatoes, peel them, cut and mix with tomatoes and add olive oil and garnish with chopped chilli (mums recipe)

Morrocan chick peas..... easy, morrocan spices (Coles)... 2 cans chick peas, drain them, fry up red onion, add chick peas, garlic and squeeze lime at end.

Broccoli and cauliflower, steamed up both heads. When serving, reheat add olive oil and squeeze some lemon.

Protein will be salmon, chicken breast - strips, turkey breast (from deli), hard boiled eggs.

Another favourite but did not get time to do this yet...

    Easy peasy...

Potatoes, runner beans and 2 tomatoes.

Fry up garlic in olive oil, potatoes, chop 2 tomatoes and chicken stock. Place oven on low. (another one of my mums recipe)
These are some typical peasant Italian vege meals.

    MTR:)

We enjoy whole smoked chicken once in a while. It doesn't need cooking, and the flavours are good, like ham and chicken. We generally find that portion sizes are smaller because of the flavour.

Tonight we had it with whole boiled potato; homegrown Russian black tomato with home grown garlic and home grown basil; and a salad with our garden cherry tomatoes and rocket.

How are you going to store these? Fridge, freezer ? Single portions or family of 3 portions?

Plenty of meal prep vids on youtube. I usually follow a few fitness channels and they provide plenty of decent healthy options to suit different budgets. i.e

Generally, at least having two type of prepped options helps to break it up a bit. All my meals are frozen the same day they are prepped and are only taken out to defrost the night prior to eating for optimal freshness.

I've grabbed a whole bunch of containers from Woolies when on sale as well as bulk meal prep containers (look for bpa free) on eBay.

The meals come in handy for my two kids as well when my wife and I haven't had the chance to prep any food.

I actually bring 2-3 frozen meals and stash them in the work freezer to save freezer space at home. I usually just take one from the freezer and pop it into the fridge prior to leaving for the evening to defrost overnight for tomorrow's lunch ;) All my colleagues ask if I order professionally (must be the meal prep containers).

My eating habits are weird by most people's standards.
I'm vegetarian, but I also do intermittent fasting, so on workdays, I only eat between coming home and going to bed, no breakfast, lunch or snacks.
This means that I'm getting stuck into the previous day's leftovers just after 4pm and then start cooking dinner around 6pm.
    So no freezing required.

Works well for me, probably wouldn't work for most people though.

I started yesterday, I am doing this so that I don't get tempted to eat rubbish, healthy options in the fridge will hopefully help
Reducing wastage etc is a bonus
