    Made me smile. :)

We're actually designing our new house at the moment with roughly 2.5 car spaces. The extra 0.5 gives us room to move and store other stuff in the garage.

    Wide or long?
I'd like to see a half width roller door on a house.

I recently read a book where a major character rides a Triumph. Now planning my mid life crisis. Wife is not impressed...

I've notice a house that has just been completed in the neighbourhood that contains, what the Owner thought would be a double garage.. unfortunately a supporting column to the upper level subdivides the garage and each side is too narrow to fit a full size car.. Looks like they're getting monkey bikes :D

Really important question - surprising number of new town houses boasting 2 cars garage, but it is tandem. I even saw a house boasting a 4 car garage, and you guessed it: 2 x tandem

Our garage at home is 2.5

Has a normal double roller, and access door to one side of the roller.
Was built as work shop (complete with 3 phase outlet inside)

A 1.5 space garage is better than a 1 space garage. It's a good idea to extend if you can. Obviously a 2 or 2.5 etc. space is even better. Good for a workshop or storage particularly in a smaller size block where a stand alone shed/workshop isn't an option.

Haha. We have a 2.5 garage, the 0.5 holds a motorbike, ride on mower, 3 x pushbikes, lawn mower and lots of gardening equipment - very handy to have

I want a double garage with parking outside for another 1-2 cars, 1 plus 0.5 is useless to us ...

There was a movie made in Melbourne called MAlcolm , I think you could park it in half a garage

We do most of ours with longer garages.

Lack of storage is a major issue in a lot of house designs.

We saw a place listed as having four bedrooms.

The fourth bedroom was a bedroom... if you could take the roof off, drop in a single mattress from above and then rehinge the bedroom door to open outwards instead!

Me: This is the fourth bedroom?
Agent: Well, it can be a study, a playroom, anything!
